The mission of the Lincoln Memorial University-School of Medical Sciences, Doctor of Medical Science program is to equip qualified clinicians and medical educators with evidence-based, advanced knowledge and skills to meet the needs of primary care, to develop leaders in the medical profession, and to promote scholarship, mentorship and discipline-specific expertise.
The DMS program seeks to achieve this mission by focusing on these goals:
- Attract & retain faculty who are experts in their field to teach in the program.
- Cultivate a culture of faculty and graduates who model the highest standards of professionalism, mentorship, and moral values.
- Employ effective and accessible technologies to enhance teaching and learning in the online environment.
- Equip graduates to demonstrate advanced disciplinary knowledge and critical inquiry to advance professional practice and scholarship within their respective clinical or educational domains.
- Prepare graduates to serve as leaders in both clinical and academic settings.
